Onewo has officially become a participant of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), committing to support the ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, and has become a leading member of the industry to join this international organization.
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) was initiated by then UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 2000. It is currently the largest and most influential international organization in the world dedicated to promoting corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. The organization was also the first to introduce the ESG concept, advocating that companies seek long-term sustainable development from the perspectives of environment, society, and corporate governance, in addition to financial indicators.
To date, over 25,000 participating companies and organizations from more than 160 countries have become members of the United Nations Global Compact. They have pledged to apply the “ten principles” more broadly in their future business activities and to report progress regularly. These “ten principles” cover areas such as respecting and upholding human rights, maintaining labor standards, promoting environmental responsibility, and combating corruption.
With the determination to build a responsible ecosystem and adhere to the path of sustainable development, ESG is Onewo's core investment, and the core ESG concepts are standardized and implemented in business processes. Since 2023, Onewo has continuously published three annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reports, voluntarily disclosing the comprehensive data and progress of the company's ESG work.
Taking the opportunity of joining the UNGC, Onewo will continue to invest in key areas such as occupational health and safety, employee development, smart low-carbon operations, community responsibility, and business ethics. Combining with the characteristic ESG projects of Onewo's "Common Development Plan" such as the "G4 Action" and "Green Space User", Onewo will closely move towards a more responsible, resilient, and sustainable development path. It will actively influence employees, communities, and partners in the ecosystem, and work together with all parties to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
