Recently, at the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, 15 corporate climate action cases, represented by "Golden Liu Xiang Yuan: A Benchmark for Property-Led Smart Low-Carbon Residential Community Transformation," were showcased at the press conference for the "2024 'Beautiful China, I Am an Actor' Corporate Climate Action Case Collection," which was hosted by the Center of Environmental Education and Communication of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and co-organized by the C-Team Climate Action Promotion Center. A representative from Onewo was invited to speak at the event.

Property industry is closely related to people's livelihoods. Although it is not a traditional high-energy-consuming industry, the community public spaces, commercial buildings, and industrial parks that it manages have significant implications for energy consumption and carbon emissions. In these service scenarios, property rights structures are complex and diverse, and property service companies, as trustees of public space assets, traditionally have unclear responsibilities for emission reduction. However, the scale of energy consumption and carbon emissions under their management is enormous, and because they are scattered in the private spaces of many property owners, it poses certain challenges to the advancement of carbon reduction efforts.

Against this backdrop, as global climate actions are widely concerned, the China Corporate Day event at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) has become an opportunity for all parties to understand the low-carbon practices of related industries in China. The Chinese property industry has shown a positive attitude at this conference, reflecting China's continuous exploration and steady progress in the carbon reduction process.

Taking Onewo as an example, the company has long been committed to developing new quality production forces and has always adhered to technological applications and innovative explorations in its business fields. It integrates effective experiences and solutions accumulated in community and building services of various types into the "Magic Stone" Edge Server through technological means, focusing on energy management modules for in-depth research and practice, striving to improve carbon management efficiency in public spaces and address carbon emission challenges.

Golden Liu Xiang Yuan is a low-carbon demonstration community established by Onewo with the support of policies and support from the Shanghai Municipal and Jiading District governments. The property service team has created a "photovoltaic-storage-Magic Stone smart microgrid" model, installing a distributed photovoltaic system on the roof of their working houses, and optimizing the collaborative relationship between community electricity supply, distributed photovoltaics, energy storage, and building energy use through the "Magic Stone" Edge Server smart microgrid algorithm and energy storage equipment, achieving efficient use of green energy.

In addition, the property has achieved 100% green electricity for office electricity consumption using photovoltaic clean energy. Photovoltaic electricity accounts for more than 10% of the total public electricity consumption in the community, and by introducing green clean energy, the green energy usage rate for public management electricity in the community has reached 100%.

In addition to the "photovoltaic-storage-Magic Stone smart microgrid" model, the community has also created several low-carbon facilities such as elevator energy recovery, organic waste treatment, the addition of electric vehicle sheds, and solar street lights. They have also organized low-carbon cultural activities, recyclable item flea markets, and used clothing recycling programs, resulting in a more than 10% decrease in per capita carbon emission intensity from 2021 to 2023.

This smart low-carbon residential community case provides a trial approach to solving the problem of scattered carbon emissions in public spaces and offers a reference case for the Chinese property industry to participate in carbon-neutral actions. This practice has attracted attention within the industry and has been included in national demonstration cases, reflecting the country's emphasis and encouragement on the exploration of the property industry in climate actions, and providing a platform for mutual learning and reference among industries.

As the first case of the Chinese property industry to appear at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, it has a profound impact on the industry and the practice of low-carbon concepts. Domestically, it helps to further implement the dual-carbon concept in grassroots service areas, guiding the public's cognition and acceptance of low-carbon lifestyles; internationally, this low-carbon practice of the Chinese property industry contributes Eastern thinking and practical experience to global climate actions, demonstrating China's positive attitude and comprehensive layout in addressing climate change issues, which is conducive to promoting exchanges and cooperation in related fields among countries and sharing experiences, and promoting the improvement and development of the global climate governance system.

As the actions of the Climate Conference deepen and global climate cooperation continues to expand, Onewo will continue to explore and forge ahead in practice, adhering to a scientific, pragmatic, and cooperative attitude, delving into the field of carbon neutrality, and working hand in hand with global partners to contribute to achieving global climate improvement goals.
