On November 2, 2024, at Vanke Star Garden Square in Beijing's Olympic Village Street, a special event was warmly underway. This location became the venue for the "Empower More People to Win the Golden Four Minutes" CPR first aid science popularization activity. Community residents, street workers, property employees, couriers, and merchants gathered together to learn these critical first aid skills and build a life safety defense line.
Under the sunlight at Vanke Star Garden Square, the usual hustle and bustle was replaced by a tense yet orderly atmosphere. Trainers from Onewo guided simulated first aid exercises, while a JD.com courier quickly fetched an AED, and an SF Express courier performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation under professional guidance. Residents formed a circle, carefully recording every key movement. A young mother and her child learning CPR together created a warm and touching scene. Meituan logistics personnel and Hema delivery staff simulated AED use, while volunteers provided health check services. The entire event not only improved first aid skills but also enhanced the community's cohesion and care.
Jiao Wei, the Party Committee Secretary and Director of Fulin Garden Community in Chaoyang District's Olympic Village Street, said on site: "Our community has been striving to enhance residents' health awareness and emergency rescue capabilities. Through activities such as 'Health Knowledge Lectures' and 'Emergency Rescue Practice Lectures,' we hope that every resident can master basic first aid skills." Owner representative Mr. Fan also shared his personal experience, emphasizing the importance of seizing the "golden four minutes" in emergencies and praising the community property for their proactive actions in organizing owner crowdfunding for AED equipment and centralized training exchange activities.
In the case of cardiac arrest, the first four minutes are crucial and are known as the "golden four minutes." Effective CPR and AED defibrillation during this period can significantly increase the patient's survival rate.
In Beijing, first aid facilities and skill training are receiving unprecedented attention. Public information shows that by the end of 2023, Beijing had equipped 5,089 AEDs at 3,116 key locations, covering seven major types of public places such as schools, key public transportation venues, large supermarkets, sports venues, park scenic spots, and movie theaters. Beijing will continue to strengthen public first aid propaganda work, encourage and guide the public to participate in first aid work, and form a good social first aid atmosphere that everyone builds and shares together.
The national policy orientation was reflected in this event. The "Healthy China 2030" planning outline clearly proposes to strengthen the popularization of first aid knowledge and skills and improve the public's self-rescue and mutual rescue capabilities. The "Public Place Automatic External Defibrillator Configuration Guide (Trial)" issued by the General Office of the National Health Commission is also a specific implementation of this policy, aiming to standardize the configuration of AEDs in public places and enhance public first aid awareness and capabilities.
Vanke Service in Beijing's 119 residential projects actively responded to the call of the country and Beijing, achieving 100% coverage of AED equipment through organizing owner donations and ensuring that all customer-facing employees received CPR training. Onewo's sustainable development center leader, Wang Weiwei, introduced that the company organized CPR public welfare community activities through the "ONEWORLD PLAN" , including employees, residents, and merchants, demonstrating corporate social responsibility and providing a solid guarantee for the life safety of community residents.
This CPR first aid science popularization activity allowed participants to learn valuable first aid knowledge and feel the warmth and strength of the community. Beijing's efforts in AED configuration and emergency training are making the city safer and warmer. We believe that under the guidance of national policies, more people will be able to win the golden four minutes in emergencies in the future, saving more lives. Through such community activities, we have improved public first aid awareness and capabilities, contributing our strength to achieving the goal of a healthy China.
